Folkland – International Centre for Folklore and Culture, in association with INTACH Kasaragod Chapter and Dorf Ketal, successfully organized a Kathakali Awareness and Demonstration for the students of C.K.N.S.G. Higher Secondary School, Pilicode, Government High School, Mathil , Government High School, Udinur and Government Vocational Higher Secondary School (GVHSS), Kayyur. The programme inspired students to appreciate the artistic excellence and cultural significance of Kathakali while strengthening awareness of Kerala's rich intangible cultural heritage. The workshop was conducted by eminent Kathakali maestro Kalamandalam Narayanan Nambisan, who has devoted more than six decades to the preservation, performance, and teaching of the art form. Drawing upon his vast experience, he presented the evolution, philosophy, and distinctive artistic features of Kathakali in an engaging and accessible manner, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of its cultural significance.
