Mesmerizing Classical Dance Performance by Folkland

On November 16, 2024, the tranquil Taj Wayanad Resort was transformed into a vibrant cultural stage as Folkland International Centre for Folklore and Culture presented Udhay—The Rising, a classical dance performance organized for SBI Global Factors Ltd. With CSR support from Dorf Ketal Chemicals India, the event featured Kerala’s iconic art forms—Mohiniyattam and Kathakali—offering a captivating glimpse into India’s rich cultural heritage. The evening opened with a graceful Mohiniyattam performance by Natyapoorna Aparna Satish and Aswathi Anil, dedicated to Lord Vishnu's Mohini avatar. Their fluid movements and expressive storytelling embodied the charm and elegance of lasya. The highlight was a powerful Kathakali enactment of Bhima and Panchali, with riveting performances by Kalamandalam Asrith Venugopal and Yatheendraraj. Supported by a skilled musical and technical team, the performance was a visual and emotional feast.
