Remembering the Deluge – Centenary Commemoration of the 1924 Great Flood

Folkland International Centre for Folklore and Culture, with CSR support from Dorf Ketal, joined hands with Munnar GVHSS Old Students Association and Munnar College of Engineering to commemorate the centenary of the 1924 Great Flood. Held on July 17–19, 2024, at the Munnar Minor Basilica Parish Hall, the event featured a rare photo exhibition, seminars, and a symbolic lamp-lighting ceremony honoring flood victims. Despite heavy rains, the program drew active community participation, Reviving forgotten memories and traditional knowledge linked to natural disasters.
