From 19th to 25th November 2024, INTACH Kasargod Chapter, in association with Folkland and with CSR support from Dorf Ketal Chemicals India, celebrated World Heritage Week with a vibrant array of programs dedicated to heritage education, cultural preservation, and community engagement. Highlights included a museum visit for Pattiam School students to the Folklore Museum, where they explored Theyyam forms, manuscripts, traditional tools, and costumes. A Mural Painting Training Camp at Monacha Heritage Village, led by artist Mrs. Priya Gopal and inaugurated by K.V. Sujatha, introduced women and children to Kerala’s traditional mural art. Local artisans and cultural custodians were honored for their role in preserving intangible heritage. The celebration concluded with guided heritage site visits to forts like Bekal, Chandragiri, and Kumala, led by experts including Dr. Sindu Joseph and Kunhikannan Kakkanath. The week fostered pride in Kasargod’s cultural richness and inspired its preservation.
